Debate Gets Spirited Early

It didn’t take long for the second presidential debate to turn into a verbal brawl. After an audience member asked if it was the job of the energy department to lower gas prices, Obama cited improvements in his first term on the U.S.’s ability to control its own energy. He pledged to pursue clean energy sources that will lower gas prices and produce jobs. Romney responded, testily, “Let’s look at the president’s policies instead of the rhetoric,” and attacked Obama for making it harder to drill on federal land. The two quickly began shouting and interrupting each other. When Candy Crowley tried to get Romney to move on to the next question, he cut her off repeatedly, ignored her request, and kept talking on the subject.
