Beginning in June, owners of Dell’s Latitude 6430u complained of cat urine odors coming from the machines, with one user saying “[T]he machine is great, but it smells as if it was assembled near a tomcat's litter box.” Another declared, “I thought for sure one of my cats sprayed it. It's embarrassing taking it to clients because it smells so bad." Dell says the smell was due to a manufacturing process but was not a health hazard, and will replace the affected computers.
