Some provisions in the GOP tax bill violate the Senate’s parliamentary rules, Senate Democrats said on Tuesday, meaning that it must be slightly restructured in order to pass by simple majority vote in that chamber. The ruling also means that the House of Representatives—which already approved the bill earlier Tuesday—must vote on it again on Wednesday once it is presumably revised and passes the Senate later Tuesday night. The legislation, a massive overhaul of the U.S. tax code, cuts rates across the board for individuals and corporations. It is still expected to pass both the House and the Senate.
