If only former Rep. Chris Lee had kept his shirt on: Democrats are poised to score an upset victory Tuesday in the race for the seat of former “Craigslist congressman” Chris Lee. Democrat Kathy Hochul leads by four to six points in the latest polls, thanks in large part to attacking her opponent’s support for Rep. Paul Ryan’s Medicare-gutting budget plan. Taking note of Hochul’s success, Senate Democrats plan to put Republicans on the spot by forcing a vote on Ryan’s plan this week. Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown and Maine Senator Susan Collins have said they will vote against the plan and Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski looks ready to follow suit.
