Depp Strikes Back at Gervais

Johnny Depp was not amused by Ricky Gervais’s jokes during the 2011 Golden Globes, and over the past nine months he’s been working hard on some comebacks. In a preview for Depp’s appearance on Gervais’s new HBO show, the Rum Diary star is seen telling Gervais that Helena Bonham Carter thinks Gervais is an idiot and that Depp “got together with a few pals after the awards, and we wrote some jokes about you.” When Gervais finally inquires whether he’s done something to upset Depp, the actor quips, “What do you mean? Like trashing me in front of 200 million people at the Golden Globes?”
