Yves Saint Laurent Biopic Clash: Pierre Bergé already voiced his preference for Jalil Lespert’s Yves Saint Laurent movie over Bertrand Bonello’s version, but now the YSL co-founder has decided to go one step further and attempt to ban Bonello’s film altogether, claiming the rights to the YSL brand. Bergé took to Twitter to address his concern: “Two films on YSL? I hold the moral rights over YSL’s work, his image and mine have only authorised Jalil Lespert. A trial on the cards?” he tweeted. Courtney Love’s Makeup Routine: In a new interview with beauty blog Into The Gloss, Courtney Love (AKA: Saint Laurent’s new face) says that she doesn’t wear makeup regularly, but it's applied in liberal quantities on the rare occasion that she does. Karl Lagerfeld (always one to chime in) does not approve of the habit. “I remember once I was walking around in my clothes from my clothing line [Never the Bride], and all this Illamasqua-style makeup, and [Karl] Lagerfeld was like, ‘You look like the 26-year-old perfect rockstar whore—but you are not 26. You are never going to get laid like that,’” she told ITG. “And it was Karl Lagerfeld, so I was like, ‘OK.’” [Into The Gloss]
Bullet Proof Vest Blunder: A new state rule mandating that all court officers wear bullet proof vests is creating problems for curvy female workers, reports the New York Post. The new vests have received complaints for offering little room in the chest area, making them painful for bustier employees. According to the Post, the state Office of Court Administration (OCA) chose to buy unisex bulletproof vests in lieu of ones fitted for female bodies to save on costs. “They are man vests — that is why they don’t fit women,’’ one male court officer told the Post. “They make female vests that are contoured, but they cost more, so they issued everyone men’s vests.” OCA spokesman David Bookstaver kept mum on the chest problem in his response and chose to focus on safety elements instead: “The big picture here is that the OCA . . . felt it was crucial to provide each court officer with bulletproof vests that give the officers the maximum safety and security while they perform their duties,” he said.
