Nothing spices up a blackmail case like the defendant turning the tables. Torino Lightbourne, the paramedic on trial for allegedly blackmailing John Travolta after his son Jett's death, told a jury that Travolta's attorney offered him a $15 million payoff to hide Travolta's failure to get medical care for Jett. Lightbourne said that when he showed up at the Travolta house, Jett was already dead, with rigor mortis setting in, and that Travolta's lawyer later offered him the money to destroy a "Refusal of Transport/Treatment" document bearing Travolta's signature. Travolta's camp agrees that the star signed a document at the scene that he thought was standard paperwork, and insists that Jett died at a local hospital after transport. Jett, who was autistic, died of a seizure on Jan. 2 at the family vacation home in the Bahamas.
