A Chinese politician at the center of a massive political scandal, the largest to hit the ruling Communist Party in decades, was indicted late Wednesday on charges of corruption and abuse of power. Bo Xilai, the former party leader and civil servant in the city of Chongqing, allegedly embezzled large sums of public money and used his position to help friends profit.
