The Los Angeles Dodgers won Game 1 of the World Series against the Houston Astros on Tuesday night, claiming a 3-1 victory in the quickest World Series game since 1992. The Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw helped secure the win with 11 strikeouts in seven innings, in stifling 100-degree California heat. The game ended up being 63 minutes shorter than the postseason average. “It was kind of quick,” Astros second baseman Jose Altuve said of his team’s defeat, according to USA Today Sports. “Everybody was swinging their bats. We were ready to hit the ball. We were facing one of the best pitchers in the league and they were facing one of the best, too, in [Dallas] Keuchel.”
