Dog Reappears 700 Miles From Home

Reunion

Owners drive to get him.

It’s like Homeward Bound, only with a microchip. A dog that mysteriously vanished from a Sacramento suburb on Tuesday afternoon was found more than 700 miles away in Tacoma, Washington. The two-year-old Patterdale Terrier named Bear was last seen playing around Bryan Rapozo’s family construction business. Then on Thursday they got a call from the Tacoma Humane Society, who had identified Bear using a microchip. The Rapozos immediately drove 740 miles to get their dog. “Somebody wanted him and was planning on keeping him,” Rapozo said. “There’s no way he got from there to here on his own. He had to have help. I know he didn’t walk up here.”
