Dolphins Sack Coach Over Bullying

The first heads are starting to roll after the National Football League's investigation into the bullying of player Jonathan Martin. The Miami Dolphins fired offensive-line coach Jim Turner and head athletics trainer Kevin O’Neill, who had been with the organization for 18 years. The Wells Report investigation indicates that O’Neill was complicit in the racial insults of one of his assistants from Japan and “allegedly even laughed” at some of them. Turner also reportedly did nothing to stop the abuse and participated in the bullying, giving one lineman a male sex doll to mock him. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said in a statement, “After receiving the report, I conducted my own internal review of the facts to determine Jim Turner and Kevin O’Neill are good people who care a great deal about their profession and the players whom they serve, but both exhibited poor judgment at times.”
