Donald Trump Jr. has tweeted pictures of what he says are the extent of his Twitter communications with WikiLeaks, following an Atlantic article that described the conversations. In September 2016, WikiLeaks sent Trump Jr. a direct message on Twitter, telling him the password for an anti-Trump group’s website. Trump Jr. replied that he didn’t know who was behind the website, “but I’ll ask around. Thanks.” In October 2016, WikiLeaks DMed Trump Jr. asking him to “comment on/push” a WikiLeaks story about Hillary Clinton. Trump Jr. replied, “already did that earlier today. It’s amazing what she can get away with.” Later that day, Trump Jr. messaged WikiLeaks asking, “what’s behind this Wednesday leak I keep reading about?” The previous day, Trump adviser Roger Stone had implied on Twitter that WikiLeaks was about to release damaging information about Clinton. On Monday, Trump Jr. tweeted that his “whopping 3 responses” constituted “the entire chain of messages” with WikiLeaks.
