Stocks on the Dow Jones industrials closed down 250 points to close at 12,573, marking the second-worst trading day of 2012. All three of the major U.S. indexes fell roughly 2 percent over news of bad economic outlooks, euro-zone trouble, and a warning from Goldman Sachs over looming financial trouble. It marked the second time in three weeks that the Dow dropped more than 240 points in a single session. Investors were seen fleeing the market on fears of slowing global growth. Additional bad news came via Spain, where banks were requesting €62 billion of aid.
