At least two dozen people were killed Friday when gunmen ambushed a bus carrying Coptic Christians in central Egypt. According to state media, the bus was heading to the Monastery of St. Samuel the Confessor in the country’s Minya province, south of Cairo, when the attack began. At least eight to 10 gunmen wearing masks and military garb stopped the bus along its route and opened fire. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident that has also left at least 25 people injured, but as the BBC noted, ISIS militants have vowed to target Coptic Christians.
