You could be forgiven for thinking Uncle Sam is trying to raise a zombie army. The United States Selective Service accidentally mailed out 14,000 draft registration notices to men from Pennsylvania born between 1893 and 1897. The notifications ordered them to sign up for military draft and warned that not doing so is "punishable by a fine and imprisonment." Turns out, a clerk at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation hadn't selected a century when trying to get records for men born between 1993 and 1997. “We made a mistake, a quite serious selection error,” a spokeswoman said.
