Maybe with their business gone they’ll have time to study again. In a massive NYPD sting operation labeled “Operation Ivy League,” that began in July, undercover cops made 31 purchases of drugs including cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, Adderall, and LSD from drug dealers on the campus of Columbia University. Five student dealers were brought down in the bust. According to police, most deals happened inside one of three fraternity houses: Alpha Epsilon Pi, Pi Kappa Alpha, and Psi Upsilon. Three dealers who supplied the students were also taken down, one of whom was plotting to kidnap and kill a rival dealer. "The fact that a supplier to the Columbia students was willing to kill his rivals should demolish any argument that drugs on campus is a victimless crime,” said NYPD Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.
