Dubai International Airport has left London Heathrow in its vapor trail to become the world’s busiest airport for international passenger traffic. As of Dec. 22, the airport has had 68.9 million passengers pass through this year, compared with Heathrow’s 67.8 million, and is expected to pass the 70 million mark by day’s end. Dubai also set a record for its busiest week ever between Dec. 18 and 24, when a total of 638,317 passengers were processed.
