Capping the end of an NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament filled with upsets was an equally unpredictable championship game. Though the Duke Blue Devils were seeded No. 1 to the Butler Bulldogs' No. 5 spot, Butler had the underdog momentum. The championship came down to the final 3.6 seconds after Duke's Bryan Zoubek missed his free throw, giving Gordon Hayward a final shot from half court, which bounced off the backboard. Kyle Singler scored a game high 19 points for Duke, while teammates Nolan Smith and Jon Scheyer dropped 13 and 15, respectively. Butler’s Hayward and Shelvin Mack both led the Bulldogs with 12 points apiece.
