Dwight Howard of the Houston Rockets is under investigation by Cobb County, Georgia, police for child abuse. Cops are investigating allegations that Howard beat his 6-year-old son with a belt. According to the Department of Children and Families in Florida (DCF), Howard admitted to beating his son and said the same was done to him. Investigators said there wasn’t sufficient evidence, but the incident occurred in Georgia. Although law-enforcement officials told TMZ that the DCF was hesitant to hand over its file on Howard, Georgia has decided to proceed with its investigation. Howard’s attorney told TMZ that the child’s mother, Royce Reed, is “shopping her baseless allegations” that have “no merit.” The story broke the same day that NFL star Adrian Peterson was suspended for the rest of the 2014 season for child abuse.
