Each Tesla Sold Loses $4,000

The company's shares are falling.

Every Model S electric sedan sold by Tesla Motors loses more than $4,000. The car company has seen hard days recently, losing $359 million in cash last quarter, and watching its shares fall. Currently, the Model S is made to order and costs between $70,000 to $106,000. It plans to build a little over 50,000 this year. But CEO Elon Musk has pledged that Tesla will earn enough to begin mass production of more than one model car next year.
