The political wing of the now-banned Muslim Brotherhood, the Freedom and Justice Party, was ordered dissolved on Saturday by a top Egyptian court. A lawyer for the Muslim Brotherhood called the case “political” and said “the case file does not lead to this outcome, based on legal logic.” The Brotherhoo’ds Twitter, meanwhile, declared the decision “legally null and void.” The Supreme Administrative Court’s decision is final, however, and calls for the seizing of all party property and funds. The ruling comes at the official request of the committee governing the activities of political parties.
