Egypt Needs Leadership—Fast

While the world's talkers have been focused on the faltering euro, Tahrir Square exploded again as Egyptians protested military rule. What's going on and what's to be done? Middle East blogger Issandr El Amrani lays out a helpful primer in The Guardian. "At this point, there has to be some outside-the-box thinking and willingness to stand up to SCAF [military] from the political class." Citizens suspect the military is trying to subvert the upcoming elections, so there's only one solution. "It would involve one or more strong, respected personalities, backed by political forces, forming a national unity government that takes all or most responsibilities from the SCAF. "
