Egyptian Protesters Beaten

Called for reform outside Cabinet office.

Egypt’s military government isn’t welcoming the protesters who brought them to power by ousting President Hosni Mubarak. Military police beat protesters Saturday to clear them from in front of the Cabinet office, where they had been trying to camp overnight as they called for further political reforms. Although the military caretaker government has moved against members of Mubarak’s regime, they have yet to fulfill their promise to repeal the emergency laws that gave Mubarak’s security forces nearly unchecked power.
