Concrete walls stand no chance against angry Egyptian activists. Hundreds of protesters marched from Tahrir Square to the Israeli Embassy in Cairo Friday, and tore away large portions of the security wall. The protesters have been calling for an end to the 1970 peace treaty with Israel, and tensions were inflamed recently when Israel’s military accidentally killed five Egyptian police officers. Protesters climbed the graffiti-laden wall and some attacked with hammers, breaking apart chunks of the cement and metal structure. The act comes as Egyptians continue to grow weary of the new government since Hosni Mubarak’s departure seven months ago.
