Street gangs in El Salvador killed 125 people over three days for a total of 220 murders last week, the bloodiest in the country’s history. The violence follows an Aug. 24 ruling by the country’s supreme court that all gangs are terrorist organizations—in an attempt to better enable law-enforcement officials to combat them. The Daily Beast’s Christopher Dickey reported recently that gangs like Barrio 18 are more vicious than ISIS.
