Egypt’s local media is reporting that Mohamed ElBaradei’s name has been withdrawn for interim prime minister after push-back from main Salafi political party, al-Nour. Negotiations are ongoing for a new pick. ElBaradei, a Nobel laureate, is a former U.N. nuclear watchdog and current leader of an alliance of liberal and left-wing parties. Of ousted president Mohamed Morsi, ElBaradei told reporters Thursday: “Mr. Morsi unfortunately undermined his own legitimacy by declaring himself a few months ago as a pharaoh, and then we got into a fistfight and not a democratic process.”
