In an 11th-hour surprise, a second bidder has sprung up for the public land that Eli Broad had sought for the site of a new museum. Shen Yun Performing Arts claims they have unsuccessfully tried to submit bids since February, and have only just now been recognized as serious bidders. Though the bidding has closed with approval for Broad’s plans, Shen Yun will appeal to several government organizations to have it reopened for offers.
