A lucky bidder may soon be able to get their hands on a real piece of Elvis Presley—a clump of his hair is going on the auction block this Sunday at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers in Chicago. The hair, which The King may have lost to an Army barber before he went into the service in 1958, is part of a collection of more than 200 items that belonged to or are associated with Presley. Other creepy, invasive items up for sale include scarves he threw to screaming fans (complete with yellow sweat stains), Christmas cards he sent, and an Elvis Pez dispenser. But the hair seems to be the most coveted item for any true Elvis fan—if it’s real. A DNA test has never been performed on the hair, although the auction house did take it to "somewhat of a hair authenticator" who compared it to his own sample of Presley's hair and concluded it is legitimate. Bidders should be prepared to ante up: Its estimated value ranges from $8,000-$12,000.
