An English goalkeeper caused an uproar on Saturday after urinating on the sidelines in the middle of a match. Salford goalkeeper Max Crocombe was sent off the field in the final stages of the team’s game against Bradford Park Avenue, leaving fans at the National League North match baffled. It later emerged that a fan reported Crocombe, a 24-year-old from New Zealand, for peeing during the match. “He was told by the steward twice not to do it and he went ahead and had a pee,” Bradford Park Avenue club secretary Colin Barker said. “He went to the side of the stand as I understand it,” he said. Salford still managed to win the game 2-1, but Crocombe’s lack of bladder control was reported to police, Barker said. Crocombe later apologized for the incident on Twitter, saying he was “in a very uncomfortable position and made an error of judgment that spoiled a great win.” He also promised that it “won’t happen again.”
