Can lightning strike twice for the National Enquirer? The supermarket tabloid reported Wednesday that John Edwards has proposed to his former mistress, Rielle Hunter. Although the story is not fully available online, the cover story claims Edwards proposed “less than three weeks” after burying his wife, Elizabeth Edwards. Despite the Enquirer’s reputation, the publication has been lauded in the past for being the sole news source to seriously cover Edwards and Hunter’s affair, but no other news outlets have confirmed that Edwards has proposed. Elizabeth Edwards’ will was unsealed Wednesday, in which she made no mention of her estranged husband.
