Envelope Company Goes Bust

As Americans eschew mail.

E-mail claims another victim. National Envelope, which produces roughly 37 billion envelopes annually, is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time in three years. Based in Frisco, Texas, the company employs about 1,600 people. The company's fate was sealed by the trend of communications being routed through the Internet rather than through the U.S. Mail.
