Eurogroup president Jeroen Dijsselbloem has denied Greece a bailout extension, saying the bailout program will expire Tuesday. Greek prime minister Alexis Tsipras had requested an extension in order to hold a referendum on the country's bailout program. Austerity demands from foreign creditors would have been put up for Greek popular vote, but European finance ministers in Brussels expressed disappointment in the decision. “I am very negatively surprised by today’s decisions by the Greek government,” said Dijsselbloem. “This is a sad decision for Greece because it has closed the door on further talks.”
