Ex-Minn. Senate Staffer Sues State

Ex-Minnesota Senate aide is suing the state, arguing sexism was at the root of his firing. Michael Brodkorb had been the communications director for the Minnesota Republican caucus until December when his romatic affair with the state's Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch was exposed. Koch stepped down but Brodkorb was terminated, which he argues was illegal because he wasn't given the option to transfer positions. He also claims he was treated differently because of his gender. "Similarly situated female legislative employees, from both political parties, were not terminated from their employment positions despite intimate relationships with male legislators," argues the suit. While the suit and Koch's lawyer say the Senator is willing to testify, her office has not commented on the case.
