The man whose ouster set off the Arab Spring has been sentenced to 35 years in jail. Former Tunisia President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali and his wife were each found guilty of theft and unlawful possession of cash and jewelry by a Tunisian court on Monday. They were also fined $65.6 million. And there are more charges left: Verdicts on other charges, including possession of drugs and weapons, will be announced at the end of June. Protests pushed Ben Ali out of office in January 2011, and his removal prompted a series of similar uprisings across northern Africa.
