It looks like Facebook is trying to get in on the e-commerce game. The social network is now testing a "buy" button on its website to facilitate purchases by consumers for items advertised on the site. Facebook says it will be available on mobile and desktop versions, and will start out with a "few small and medium-sized businesses." Facebook will not take any portion of the revenue for now, and credit card transactions will be handled by a third-party. "None of the credit or debit card information people share with Facebook when completing a transaction will be shared with other advertisers, and people can select whether or not they would like to save payment information for future purchases," the company reassured users.
