Facebook announced Thursday that it will begin allowing users to choose a manager for their accounts after they die. Starting with the U.S., a “legacy contact” may be appointed to respond to new friend requests and update profile pictures. Users may also now opt to have their accounts deleted after they die. Previously, Facebook pages were simply locked or “memorialized” after users died.
