The plot thickens: The “fake Rockefeller” who posed as an heir to the famous family is now being charged with murder. Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter is accused of killing John Sohus. In 1985, Gerhartsreiter, pretending to be someone named “Christopher Chichester,” was staying at Sohus’s guest house when Sohus disappeared. His body was discovered nine years later buried in the backyard of the Sohus home; he had died from blunt-force trauma to the head. By that point, Gerharsreiter was long gone. He is currently imprisoned in Massachusetts for kidnapping his 7-year-old daughter.
