Isaac Mizrahi described his Fall/Winter 2010 collection as "an Upper East Side camping trip." But, according to Women's Wear Daily, he took it too far this time with a mix of sporty outdoors clothes and sequined fare. "Buffalo Bill Blass," wrote WWD, "Irving Penn Station. Avedon meets "Avatar." Nobody serves up fashion with kitschy wit quite like Isaac Mizrahi, and, as his show notes indicated, he can still work a charmingly campy angle."

Minimalist silhouettes took on new shape at Calvin Klein, where Francisco Costa punched up shoulders and arms, and created volume around the waist. "I wanted to emphasize the waist -- make her a stronger woman, who is both structured but soft," Costa said of his designs after the show.

Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy celebrated the opening of "Quicktake: Rodarte," an exhibition of their work at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. Also in the crowd were Natalie Portman, Kristen Dunst, Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth, Cynthia Rowley, Liya Kebede, and Anna Wintour. Laura Mulleavy said that getting the offer to hold the exhibition there felt pretty wild both to her and her parents. "It's the Smithsonian!" she said with a smile. "I mean, where do you go with your parents when you go on trips? The Smithsonian! It's like the biggest deal. It's incredible." She first got a call about doing an exhibit back in October. And as her statement indicates, the decision was a no brainer. "Gregory [Krum], the curator, asked if we would take part. Would we take part? Of course we would."
