We may have lost Farrah Fawcett earlier this year and Polaroid has since ceased to produce its legendary film, but both are being revitalized for a charitable purpose—Andy Warhol’s instant portrait of Fawcett went up for auction at the Children’s Museum of the Arts on October 22. What may be a far less iconic than the image of a fluffy-haired Fawcett in a red swimsuit is now worth more than any hi-cut one-piece. Andy Warhol snapped the three-by-four-inch photograph of the bare-shouldered blonde with his Polaroid camera in 1979. The pop artist reportedly used Polaroids for his eventual famed silk-screen portraits. Also available at the auction were works of art by David Byrne, Yoko Ono, and John Waters.
