FBI Hacks San Bernardino Shooter iPhone

The Justice Department on Monday withdrew its legal action against Apple, announcing it had found an undisclosed way to unlock San Bernardino shooter Syed Farook’s iPhone. The decision ends a monthlong legal standoff with the tech giant, which it had tried to compel to create software to allow investigators to gain entry to information in the device. In a brief filing, the Justice Department said it had found an outside method to bypass the security feature to access the smartphone’s data and “no longer requires the assistance from Apple.”
