The FBI has just made America’s mission in the Middle East a lot harder: According to Wired, the FBI has taught counterterrorism agents about Islam with materials saying “mainstream” Muslims are terrorist sympathizers; the more devout a Muslim is, the more likely he is to be "violent"; the prophet Mohamed was a “cult leader”; and Islamic charity is a “funding mechanism for combat.” “The strategic themes animating these Islamic values are not fringe; they are mainstream,” the materials read. The FBI says the materials are a “rudimentary version” that has since been replaced; however, some of the material was used as recently as March of this year.
