The FBI issued orders to seize guns from more than 4,000 people who failed background checks, USA Today reported Monday. The requests, which were filed over the past year, represent the largest effort by federal authorities to seize illegally purchased guns over the past decade. The 4,000-plus guns highlight a hole in the background check system, which allows people to purchase guns if a check is not completed within three days.
