Back in 2005, the wife of David Coleman Headley, who turned out to be a leader in the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, gave U.S. informants several tips about the attack that her husband was planning. In three interviews during that time period, connected to a domestic assault charge against Headley, his wife told the FBI that he had purchased equipment such as night-vision goggles and had bragged of working with Pakistani terrorists. Agents now say they “looked into” the claims, but declined to discuss details. The Mumbai attacks killed 166 people; Headley was arrested in March of 2009, pleaded guilty, and is cooperating with police.
