Mexico sent federal agents to take over security in Iguala, a city in southern Guerrero state, after authorities discovered a mass grave amid allegatons that local police conspired with a criminal gang to kill and disappear students. Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, who previously had been silent on the apparent massacre, sent the federal team to find out what happened, calling the deaths “outrageous, painful, and unacceptable.”
