Feds Investigating NFL Drug Abuse

The federal Drug Enforcement Administration has begun an investigation into the abuse of prescription drugs in NFL locker rooms. The probe started after roughly 1,300 retirees sued the league in May, accusing it of handing out illegal painkillers, sleeping pills, and anti-inflammatories. The NFL is still recovering in the public eye after it was accused of covering up the long-term damage that concussions can cause. The suit accused the league of using the drugs to keep athletes playing without telling them about the long-term risks.
