Feds: McDonald’s Responsible for Workers

It’s a good day for burger-flippers. McDonald’s must take joint responsibility for all its workers, including those at franchise restaurants, the National Labor Relations Board ruled on Tuesday. The decision will make the fast-food giant accountable for actions at thousands of restaurants—90 percent of all McDonald’s are franchises. This change, if upheld, could pave the way for nationwide unionizing of employees and raising the minimum wage.
