Feds Raid CO Pot Dispensaries

Pot’s about to be legal in Colorado, but that’s not stopping the federal government from making a last-ditch effort to persecute growers in the state. Federal agents from the DEA and the IRS raided pot dispensaries and growing facilities across Colorado Thursday, confiscating piles of marijuana plants and infused drinks. It was the first raid since the Justice Department said it would not interfere with voters’ decision to legalize marijuana, which will go into effect on January 1. The U.S. Attorney in Denver said the action was consistent with “recent guidance” from the Justice Department, but did not elaborate further.
