The grand jury deciding whether to indict Officer Darren Wilson for shooting and killing unarmed teen Michael Brown in August will not reconvene until Monday at the earliest, according to local and federal law enforcements. The jury apparently attempted to reach a decision on Friday but failed, according to CNN. In the meantime, the city has braced for potential protests in the wake of the grand jury’s decision. Authorities, community leaders, activists and Brown’s father, Michael Brown Sr., have called for calm, with President Obama also adding on Friday, “This is a country that allows everybody to express their views, allows them to peacefully assemble, to protest actions that they think are unjust. But using any event as an excuse for violence is contrary to rule of law and contrary to who we are.”
