Talk about a bad way to start a vacation. The house the Obamas normally rent on Martha’s Vineyard had a small kitchen fire Tuesday. Chilmark fire chief David Norton said that a fire broke out in the wall of the main house around 3:30 a.m., caused by a gas grill. Norton said the fire was extinguished quickly. President Obama is expected to vacation at Martha’s Vineyard later this month after he finishes a bus tour of the Midwest. The First Family usually stays at the Blue Heron Farm in Chilmark on Martha’s Vineyard, which is privately owned by a Mississippi couple. But , fire or no, some are speculating the president may cut his vacation short because of the wild economy.
