British authorities have arrested five men over “Anonymous” Web attacks that were carried out in the wake of the WikiLeaks crackdown. The attacks were carried out against companies that cut ties with WikiLeaks following the arrest of Julian Assange, including PayPal, MasterCard, and Amazon. The men allegedly carried out the attacks using an online tool called LOIC, which did not hide its users’ IP addresses and so provided leads to authorities to find them. Three of the arrested men were teenagers, ages 15, 16, and 19, while the two other men were 20 and 26.
